Synod

One of the splinter factions created after the dissolution of the Mages Guild at the start of the Fourth Era. The Synod continues the ban of Necromancy that the original Mages Guild had before its dissolution.

Knowledge acquired by the Synod is generally well guarded and secreted away in their halls. If one were to join the Synod and pay the yearly fee, then they would start receiving lectures and learning new spells from the other Synod members. Only the high ranking members are allowed into the higher levels of the libraries of this faction.
