The Psijic Order is an ancient order based on the island of Artaeum. From it, the Mages Guild would later begin and develop in the Second Era, started by the legendary Vanus Galerion. The Psijic Order was believed to have originated in the Summerset Isles.
They are said to have been indirectly responsible for the development of Mysticism, long before there was a name for it. Their counsel has been sought by some political leaders, but other leaders have treated the Order with immense suspicion.
This group of highly powerful mages only interact with the rest of the world when they sense immense danger to the world itself. When they do not, nobody knows how to find them, or indeed where Artaeum itself is.
