Peering into madness

Based on the information given by the (now dead) cultist back in Elden Root, the group started travelling slowly to the North East, where they were told that a colleague of his would be able to provide more information about their situation. Although quite a long distance, all the members of this group seem to want to know why they were handpicked to be sacrificed. However, as they traveled, Morag received a letter via pigeon, stating that a number of portals have popped up around Tamriel, and that they need to be investigated. Morag was selected by her mentor to check this out as she is closer to some of these portals than others of her kin.

As the group travelled Northbound, into the Imperial region of Cyrodiil, the group did, in fact, find an odd looking structure, seemingly made of one massive stone, sculptured into the shape of a three faced head. Within the open mouth of the central face, dark purple light was spilling into Tamriel, along with Daedric creatures, that did battle with the group, until they were laid dead in the countryside outside of Skingrad.

During the fight, some of the group members noticed a humanoid watching them from within the portal to the Mad God’s realm, with what seemed like a recognizing look.
