Delving into Dwemeri History

Meeting Torvesad in person allowed the group to, at least, figure out what was going on in the background; why they were captured in the first place, why the Recollection and the Primeval Seekers were all interested in this group of misfits.

Being the last ‘heroes’, or rather, powerful persons who have the ability to affect the fate of Tamriel, it is up to them to decide if any new ‘heroes’ can be born in Tamriel, come their passing. This is what Torvesad said is on the line, and this is why he said it’s a must that his mistress is returned; without her influence, no new ‘heroes’ can be born.

From the group’s side, they said that they would only be aiding the Dremora if he used his influence to bring them some equipment to help them in their adventures; the most pressing of which was an amulet that protected the wearer from divination magic, for each member of the group. Torvesad complied, bringing them the requested items in a couple of days.

In response to Torvesad’s compliance, Bralen revealed some crucial information relating to Torvesad’s current target; the Staff of Recollection. Through his research while in Apocrapha, Bralen discovered that an artifact by that name was last seen in a Dwemer ruin in Skyrim, by the name of Bthardamz.

And so the group decided to make their way there, to see if they can find this staff. Wether it will be used to recover Ithelia or not is still to be decided, but they would be in a position to bargain, if need be. Bralen teleported the group to a nearby to the ruin, and they made their way over to the entrance.

However, the first thing they found was an ancient trap, spinning blades at the center of the stairs leading to the underground building; which the group managed to hald for a while using a shovel, while Ja’Karo climbed along the rocks on the sides to make it to the entrance, where a lever disabled the trap. Entering the structure, the group entered an ancient metal elevator, which lead them down towards a cavernous area. While the elevator was moving slowly, and loudly, arrows were shot towards them from below. With some difficulty, due to the darkness in the area, the group fired back, with weapons and magic, to eliminate the hunched creatures below, and their crustacean looking pets.
