Let the feast begin!

Returning back to the Riente castle in Blackreach, the group was welcomed by the vampire clan to a grand feast, albeit the feast itself being of an extremely gory nature. Walking into the dining hall, the group found numerous bodies hanging above the dinner table from chains hooked to the ceiling, blood dripping into bowls and chalices. The vampires themselves were already well into the feast; William, the head of the clan, was at the head of the table, with a cup in hand. His orsimer wife sitting next to him, and their oofspring around the table along with many other members of the coven, eating raw meat and drinking blood. The party was invited to join in the fun, but only a couple of the group actually indulged.

William asked about Haron and the quest to assassinate him in Solitude. The group informed him that their quarry had been slain, presenting a piece of his shattered sarcophagus as proof of their deed. In return, William instructed his kin to bring in the main course, King Marcellus and his aide, Elara Thorn, were wheeled in, tied to crosses. Decimus walked up to them and killed the traitor king, and let the vampires kill off the Thalmor agent

The group was then asked wether anyone was interested to properly seal the deal of allyship with the Riente clan. After much hesitation and questioning, some of the group members agreed to be given the gift (or curse, depending on one’s point of view) of vampirism, accompanied by a night of carnal pleasure with the vampire who provided the gift. The rest of the group took a well needed long rest in lavish bedrooms provided by the vampires within the castle itself.

The next morning, the group awoke to what seemed like a completely empty castle, the vampires seemingly asleep in their caskets. However, they could not find any caskets of the Riente family members themselves, only of the other vampires in their clan. Without managing to find any new coffins or sarcophagi bearing their names, the newly created vampires left Blackreach with their party to take some well earned downtime after some intense adventuring.
