The start of an invasion

After a few days apart, taking care of business on each of their individual sides, the party met up back in Whiterun, ready to aid Ieaga in taking Markarth back in the name of the Forsworn, the original inhabitants of the region called the Reach. Their first call of action was to visit to camp of the Forsworn that Ieaga had been managing from a distance. There, she introduced the party as allies of the Forsworn. To some of the party member’s surprise, these ‘barbaric savages’ had managed to learn the basics of the giants’ language and had managed to befriend some of them, with a few giants joining their camp with the intent of aiding them in the elimination of the Kingdom of Iron; the remnants of the Imperials who had taken hold of their city for so long.

As the Briarheart of the group talked to her second in command, they decided, along with the HAS, that the group’s course of action will take them into Markarth through a secret entrance in the Silver Blood Mine, through which they would be able to break into the city itself; freeing some Forsworn prisoners along the way. In the meantime, the Forsworn would be ready to launch a full frontal assault once the HAS manage to open the city gate from the inside. And so they did.

The HAS made it into the mine through the secret entrance, freeing the Forsworn imprisoned there, and eliminating the guards at the mine. From there, they snuck out to the city gate, using the riot in the city square as a distraction, and opened the gate. As soon as they did, all hell broke lose. The giants charged through the gate, smashing their clubs down on any city guard that dared not bolt away. The Reachmen who were waiting charged in to attack, while many civilians took up arms to aid the savages in overthrowing their tyrants.
